Kidney Transplant Facilitation Desk
Al Makki Al Madni Dialysis Centre (MMDC)
Recognizing that dialysis is a life-sustaining treatment but not a cure, MMDC has established a Kidney Transplant Facilitation Desk to guide and support patients seeking a permanent solution through kidney transplantation. Our mission is to bridge the gap between patients and transplant centers, ensuring ethical, legal, and accessible transplant options for the underprivileged.
What We Do
- The Kidney Transplant Facilitation Desk helps patients and families understand the transplantation process, prepare for evaluation, and connect with accredited transplant institutions in Pakistan.
Distinctive Features
- Free Counseling and Guidance Patients and their families receive comprehensive counseling on the transplant process, eligibility, risks, and post-transplant care.
- Ethical & Legal Compliance All facilitation is done in accordance with Pakistan’s Human Organ Transplant Authority (HOTA) guidelines — no illegal or unverified processes.
- Referral to Accredited Centers MMDC coordinates with registered public and private transplant centers to help patients access proper care.
- Support with Documentation Help with preparing medical records, donor verification documents, legal forms, and HOTA requirements.
- Financial Counseling Guidance on expected costs, Zakat-based financial aid options, and donor sponsorships when available.
- Pre-Transplant Medical Assessment Patients undergo medical fitness evaluations at MMDC before referral to ensure suitability for transplant.
- Awareness and Education Ongoing community sessions and campaigns to promote ethical kidney donation and remove stigma around transplantation.
- Post-Transplant Follow-Up Support Assistance with routine post-transplant lab monitoring, medication counseling, and OPD follow-up at MMDC when applicable.
