Dialysis Center Overview

Salient Features

Dialysis Ward

The dialysis ward at Al Makki Al Madni Dialysis Centre operates in three shifts daily, equipped with 14 advanced Fresenius 4008S OCM Dialysis Machines. The unit is staffed by FCPS-certified nephrologists, nephrology-trained medical officers, specialized renal nurses, and full-time dialysis technicians. A dedicated renal technologist ensures optimal machine performance and patient safety. The ward delivers free dialysis services, ensuring high-quality, round-the-clock care for patients with end-stage kidney disease.

Environment

The environment at MMDC dialysis wards is clean, compassionate, and patient-centered. Each ward is maintained with strict infection control protocols, ensuring a safe and hygienic space for treatment. The atmosphere is calm and supportive, with dedicated staff offering respectful, empathetic care. Comfortable beds, clean linens, and continuous monitoring provide both physical comfort and emotional reassurance to patients undergoing dialysis. The facility reflects MMDC’s commitment to dignity, hope, and healing for all.

Separate HCV

At MMDC, HCV-infected and non-infected dialysis patients are treated in separate dedicated wards to prevent cross-infection. Each ward has its own set of machines, supplies, and staff protocols, following international infection control standards. This strict segregation ensures a safe treatment environment, upholding patient safety, dignity, and MMDC’s commitment to high-quality, contamination-free care.

Infection Control

MMDC follows strict infection control protocols in line with PHC-Approved standards. All equipment is regularly disinfected, staff use proper PPE, and hand hygiene is strictly enforced. Separate zones for infected and non-infected patients minimize cross-contamination. Regular audits, sterilization procedures, and staff training ensure a safe and hygienic environment, protecting both patients and healthcare providers during dialysis sessions.

R.O Plant

MMDC is equipped with a state-of-the-art Reverse Osmosis (RO) plant to ensure the highest quality of water for dialysis. The RO plant purifies water by removing toxins, bacteria, and minerals, meeting international dialysis water standards. Regular monitoring and maintenance of the system guarantee safe, sterile, and reliable water supply, essential for effective and infection-free dialysis treatment.

Power Backup

MMDC ensures uninterrupted dialysis services through a reliable power supply system. The facility is connected to WAPDA and supported by a standby generator for immediate backup during outages. Additionally, a solar energy system provides eco-friendly support, reducing dependency on the grid. This multi-layered power setup guarantees continuous machine operation and patient safety during all three shifts.

Dialysis Machine

MMDC is equipped with 14 state-of-the-art Fresenius 4008S OCM dialysis machines, known globally for their precision, safety, and efficiency. These machines offer advanced hemodialysis with online clearance monitoring (OCM), ensuring optimal treatment outcomes. Regularly maintained and calibrated, each machine is dedicated to either HCV-infected or non-infected wards, aligning with strict infection control protocols for safe and effective care.

Software Database

MMDC maintains a paper-free environment by using digital patient records and documentation systems, ensuring efficient, eco-friendly operations. All medical and administrative data is securely stored electronically, with regular backups to prevent data loss. For added safety, essential documents are also archived in hard copy as a secondary backup, ensuring both accessibility and data integrity at all times.

PHC Compliant

MMDC is fully compliant with Punjab Healthcare Commission (PHC) standards and operates under License #75951. The centre follows all regulatory protocols, including infection control, staff qualifications, and patient safety measures. MMDC is also qualified for the Sehat Sahulat (Health Card) program, enabling eligible patients to receive free dialysis services under government support, ensuring accessible and standardized care for all.

Sharia Compliancs

MMDC operates under the guidance of a dedicated Shari’ah Advisory Board for all Zakat-related matters, ensuring transparency, accountability, and compliance with Islamic principles. The board oversees the proper collection, verification, and utilization of Zakat funds, guaranteeing that donations are used exclusively for eligible patients. This religious oversight builds donor trust and aligns MMDC’s services with Shari’ah ethics and values.

Audit

MMDC operates under the oversight of a dedicated Audit Committee for all financial and operational matters, ensuring transparency, accountability, and strict compliance with recognized auditing standards. The committee is charged with planning and conducting regular audits of fund-raising, verification, and disbursement processes, guaranteeing that every donation is accurately recorded and used exclusively for eligible patients. Through systematic audit procedures, internal controls, and periodic financial reviews, MMDC maintains rigorous checks and balances. This robust audit governance builds donor confidence and aligns MMDC’s operations with best-practice principles and ethical stewardship.

ICU Management

MMDC’s intensive care services are governed by a dedicated ICU Management Committee that brings together critical-care physicians, nursing leaders, respiratory therapists, and biomedical engineers to oversee every aspect of our high-dependency units. This committee establishes and regularly updates evidence-based clinical protocols, monitors patient outcomes through real-time dashboards, and enforces strict infection-control and equipment-maintenance schedules. Through continuous staff training, multidisciplinary case reviews, and periodic performance audits, MMDC ensures that every critically ill patient receives the safest, most effective care. This structured oversight not only drives clinical excellence and quality improvement but also reinforces donor and community confidence in our ability to deliver life-saving ICU treatment.

Waiting Area

MMDC’s Waiting Area is thoughtfully designed to uphold dignity, comfort, and compassion for every patient. Guided by principles of accessibility and respect, the space ensures a calm and welcoming environment for individuals and families during their most vulnerable moments. From seating arrangements to patient flow, every detail is managed with care and efficiency—reflecting MMDC’s commitment to humane service delivery.
